The FCC is moving US Licensing to be in conformity with the rest of the
world by eliminating CW as an Entry Barrier. Most of you rationally
understand the harm that the CW Entry Barrier has done to our hobby by
keeping out not only technically competent people but also the younger
generation who could not see the point of learning a skill just so one no
longer needed to communicate using it...The elimination of the US CW Barrier
will make our licensing rules conform with WARC 2003 and ensure that we have
the same licensing standards as the rest of the world.
Please submit a comment to the FCC asking them support removing the Morse
Code requirement. It's easy. Go to: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/ecfsClick on
"Submit A Filing"The Proceeding Number is 05-235 (include the -)Just fill in
the blanks and type in your comment.
