I agree.  You can get a GOOD crimping tool for about $30.  They usually come
with about 10 RJ-45 connectors.  And they usually will fit the 4 - 6 - and 8
pin RJ connectors, so you can do phone and network connectors.  

Since this is about the price of one adapter, and you can use if the rest of
your life, it is one of the better deals going.
