Hi John
Thank you for the information. FYI, I am using a 20m modified Hustler
antenna mounted in the center of the roof via a four foot mag mount with a
Hustler 40 meter super on the same mount about two feet from the 20. Signal
reports on 20 are great (both antennas are guyed to the front). Yes, I am a
County hunter, hi hi. From the ground to the tip of the 20 is 14 feet. I do
a good job pruning the trees here in central Virginia. Keeping a few extra
tips on hand is a must. I do use quick disconnects and when the going gets
to rough, I take then down.
If I purchase the AH-4, I may mount it on the driver's side next to the
spare tire and mount the AH-4 between the left rear glass and the spare tire
with suction cups. The steel 102 inch ant could be fasten to the body just
below the glass using the Hustler two inch stainless steel ball mount.
I wanted to mount the AH-4 here and keep the antenna in the center of
the roof but Icom doesn't like this idea. Seems to me they should have made
the unit RF proof. I will not put it on top of the roof with a big old take
me sign on it.

 I have been running a 706mk2g and an AH-4 auto-tuner with a 8 1/2 foot CB
whip in my GMC Pickup truck for about three years now and it works great 80
mtrs thru 6 mtrs.
