[ICOM] 706 Mk 2G scaning question

706 M 2G.  Memory scanning stops for 10 seconds or so on a detected carrier
and then continues scanning.  This drives me crazy.  I would like it to do
like Kenwood and Yaesu and STOP and STAY there until the carrier drops.  Is
it capable of this and how does one set it that way (how do they refer to
this option in the manual).?
