Hi Dave,

The Icomclassic group should be able to assist you with your IC-745
question. I believe that the FL-80 (9 MHz) and FL-44A (455 kHz) crystal
filters can be fitted to the IC-745. The Inrad 109 will sub for the somewhat
rare FL-44A.

Subject: [ICOM] IC-745

Hello to all. I'm thinking about adding filters, for cw, to a 745 I've used
for SWLing. Currently the radio does not have filters in it except the basic
ceramic. I'm wondering if I need to add a 9MC filter in addition to a 455KC
cw filter to get the most out of the passband tuning. Icom's manual says
that when both 9MC and 455KC filters are present you can narrow the passband
to almost 0. The problem is that they don't say which filters are needed.
Has anyone done this sort of thing with their 745? Any info will be of great
help. One other question, when changing from one band to another and back to
the original band the frequency always returns to the same spot, regardless
of the frequency you were on before the band change. Hope that makes sense.
Is this normal for the 745? Thanks.
Dave K2ZU
