[ICOM] PW-1 and Omni 6

Hi Steve,

My understanding is that the Omni VI's CI-V protocol emulates that of the
IC-735, with the added ability to set PTT. In theory, it should
inter-operate with the PW1; you will need a CT-17 or equivalent to connect
the Omni VI RS-232 interface to the PW1's CI-V port (3mm mono jack).

There is another issue, though; as I recall, the Omni VI is not fitted with
an external ALC input. Any attempt to operate the PW1 without a
correctly-adjusted ALC loop to the exciter can place the expensive MRF150's
in the amplifier at risk of destruction. The ALC line is the PW1's first
line of defence.

Cheers for now, 73,

Will the Omni VI's serial port interface with the PW-1? I haven't been able
to get them to communicate with each other.
