Powerpole connectors Re: [ICOM] PS85 Power Supply

I'd recommend getting a patch panel made from Anderson Powerpole
connectors - they're rapidly becoming the defacto standard for D.C. power
plugs - much like the Edison A.C. plug is in North America.
If you wire your car, boat, fixed and portable locations with Anderson
Powerpole connectors, you'll be able to bring in the mobile radio into the
shack, etc., or the shack radio to the car.
What this will offer is the ability to bring someone else's radio over to
your house, etc. Many emergency organizations have standardized on this.
See this page for a listing of worldwide agencies and amateur radio groups
who use this connector: http://www.powerwerx.com/registry.asp
What is so nice about them is that they're (um, is this politically
correct?) genderless - so if you didn't follow the "females are always ready
to be plugged into" system that is used in power distribution, and
commercial sound systems where the the females are the only ones on the
stage (speaker feeds are female ended, cables for microphones are female
ended) - no problem - each plugs into the other - just match the RED with
the RED and the BLACK with the black. Different AMPERAGE plugs, the 15, 30,
and 45 amp Powerpole jack-plugs (genderless, no?) are ALL mate with each
other because the mating part is identical. The larger than 45 ampere
Powerpoles have larger mating parts and won't couple with the 15-30-45 amp
units.
MFJ, PowerWerx and possibly others make patch panels for these units.
Great idea!

I use the Astron RS 20m with my old 756Pro and am more satisfied than the
Yasue
switching.
Question, I have an IC power supply that I would like to use by modifying.
That is
how can I obtain the plugs so that I can tap off 12v to run a tuner and a
few other
things, just when I turn on the IC rig? Now the peripheries are on but not
the rig.
