[ICOM] PW-1 Amp

OK, thanks for the info. (and thanks also to K8IZ)
I couldn't find any reference on page 12 of my manual copy to using the Amp/Protect key as a
Standby/Operate switch, but it does seem to work that way. Do I understand correctly that the PW-1
tuner continues automatic tuning for the ProII even when Amp/Protect is "off"? Or should I turn the
ProII's tuner back on?

It would be great if, after turning on the amp power for the first time in a session, I could just
hit the Amp/Protect button and continue operating at 100w until I again need the amp.... and not
shut down the amp power until I'm through for the day. I just want to run the amp in the best way to
ensure its longevity.

I checked out that site you mentioned for manual downloads, but didn't find anything specifically on
the PW-1. Nothing on the ICOM manual download list either, so I sent ICOM a request to upload the
PW-1 User and Service manuals to their site. I did try to download some ProII docs from that qsl.net
site, and I was amazed at how slow downloads are from there. Is it always like that?

73, Jerry K3BZ
