Corroded or tarnished ground connections would be my guess. Remember even a
little tarnish can add OHMS to a ground point. We tend to ground everything
in sight but don't seem to return to service those grounds and the
connection changes with time, weather etc.
Like others said here also something moves, bad cable or connector etc.
I once had a rig connected to a power supply using crimp on ring connectors
which i had soldered also and my power dropped to about 1/2.
Even though the binding posts were tight using my fingers I used pliers and
got about 1/2 turn more. My output power came right back up to where it was
originally when I assembled the station.
Anyway food for thought.
