[ICOM] 756pro-ii - what batch ?

The heating 'problem' is crap.
I have had every 756...analog, I and II and now I have 2 IIs and yes, they
run hot, but I have never had a problem. My radios are on 24/7 save
lightning season (and I don't mean NHL hockey) each year.

I wouldn't waste another second worrying about heat problems with the 756
series. Red herring.
