[ICOM] ICOM 706 MK2G

I am running the 706 MK2G and have run into a problem--I am hoping someone 
out there has an idea--
When transmitting, on any band, using SSB, I get full power, 
100watts---however in the middle of the transmission the power goes to zero---If I unkey the 
mike and then key up again---full power--
It may seem like just an inconvenience---but it's getting to be a real pain..
SWR is OK...
Any ideas???
