My dad used a 746 mobile in his Chevy Silverado.  He
made a rectangular cage from aluminum angle, used
semi-rigid rubber strips for padding, and bolted it
vertically to the floor with adequate bracing.  The
746 slid in from the top and was secured in place from
the sides.  The rig/cage were angled toward the driver
slightly.  This worked very well, but required quite a
bit of space.  He has since purchased a 706 for mobile
use and keeps the 746 in the shack.
