This rig has a jack on the back for "memory backup power" since it does
not have an internal battery to keep the memory when the main 12 volt
source is removed. I had similar problems when the cells in the
external memory battery pack started going bad. Icom sold an optional
memory battery that bolted on the back and plugged into this jack, or
you can connect a regular 9-volt battery.
If you have one of these external packs, try unplugging the external
battery and removing the main power source from the rig for 5 or 10
minutes. This resets the CPU.
