No response whatsoever on port 69.  But that isn't a bit surprise since I'd
expect that the transfer would be initiated from the 7800 -- after entering
some kind of administrator password.

The only protocol which would make sense in the moment is TFTP, that should
be 
on port 69 (tcp). Useful for uploading new firmware. Try to telnet to port
69 
and see if you can invoke an tftp dialog...
