Thank you for the great help! I dumb lucked into the right combination last
evening, then found several excellent sets of instructions in my e-mail. I 
saved
them in the file with my data on the Icom 275H for 'future' reference. Great
dialogues from Clete and Jens! 	
	
FYI: the speech board in the older Icom units only speaks the current 
frequency,
nothing else. It is no help for programming. 	
	
The speech module in the newer Icom units speaks the current frequency, the
S-meter reading and under 'certain' conditions, the mode. It is also 
useless for
the menu driven items and programming in general.	
	
The only transceiver I am aware of that ever spoke in the menus was made by 
some
other company named after a piece of 'wood' starting with the letter 'K'.
Surprisingly, very few blind Hams used it. Wonder why?
