[Icom] Strike

I am finding out some more interesting things. I was wondering why neither
of the "Brand Y" or one "Brand K" was not damaged so I started doing some
more checking. Could it be they were better designed or built or what?

Nope, it was simple, the three undamaged rigs were not hooked up to the
station ground system. I had been doing some reconfigurations before a
recent quick hospital trip and I had them disconnected and I just forgot to
get back to the project.

At this point in time it would appear that there were t hits very close
together or else it hit the phone entrance and jumped to the breaker panel
18" away or else it hit the breaker panel and jumped to the phone lines.

No need to get a thread started on this but the phone Co. claims that their
system is so well protected, they could not induce a strike to the inside of
a dwelling. Yea right ...........

There are 4 separate 110 and 2 220 volt lines ran to the radio room and all
four of the 110 breakers were tripped.

So it is very likely that the strike entered on the AC lines to the radio
room and went there looking for a good ground, and it found it, i.e.., the
station ground system.
