My original note:
Hi to the group.
For some unknown reason my Heil ICM mic element went bad. Had to yell
into the mic to get any audio out. I successfully replaced it with a
Radio Shack Condenser Microphone Element p/n 270-090 at a cost of
$2.49. It looks very similar to the ICM element. On the air reports
were impressive. I had successfully replaced a raspy sounding element
in my SM-10 about a year ago with the same part number from RS. I
presently use an Icom ProII transceiver.
Not a bad price for a spare element. 73 de Fred.
BTW The PROII is the finest piece of communications equipment I have
ever had the pleasure to use versus its cost.

Additional comment:
The radio shack element looked identical to the one that I removed from
the ICM microphone except RS model had bare wire leads on it. I clipped
the leads and soldered the RS element in and that was all that was
involved with the fix. Took about 10 minutes to unscrew the windscreen
and do the job. de Fred.
