Riddle me this, IcomMan!

My 1.5 year old 756ProII has developed a new problem. It's about to make
its second trip to ICOM for service.

When I attempt to transmit, even with RF Power turned down to 5 watts, or
if I press the TUNER button, in either CW, RTTY or SSB modes, the radio
will instantly shut off and turn itself back on. Any attempt to transmit,
either via the VOX, Transmit button or CW break-in operation will cause the
radio to instantly shut down and restart. The display blinks off and the
radio behaves as if I just turned it back on.

A MASTER CPU RESET does not resolve the issue. Icom Tech Support asked me
to try another power supply. I swapped out my PS-125 for another I have
here and the symptoms are the same. They could offer no other solution
other than to send it in for service.

It would appear that something shorted hard. The radio is now .5 years out
of warranty. The first trip to Icom was to repair an intermittent solder
joint at L114 in the bandscope circuitry 6 months ago. Now this. I guess
I'm going to have to buy a second 756ProII for use while one is in the shop
:-(

I can't ship it until Monday. Anyone care to offer another troubleshooting
idea before the unit gets boxed for shipping?
