Hi Doug,
I am curious whether you are using the radio with the control head attached
or with a remote cable?
Thanks,
Ken W7TS

Hi Jerry,
Yes, I've used the radio in the house and didn't have the noise problem. My
area is very free of ambient power line noise so that is to be expected. I
tried something the other day though. When I pulled into the parking lot
here at work, I had an solid S-7 noise level. When I shut the truck off, I
had a solid S-5 noise level. So the truck is definitely contributing to the
noise but the radio is also picking up other stuff, in this case noise from
the power lines that run close to the parking lot. With the IC-735 in the
truck with the same setup, I have very little noise, just a bit from the
truck which I can get rid of with the noise blanker.
Another couple of fellows replied to my note and said they have the same
problem. So, it must have something to do with the radio.
