[ICOM] IC 756 Display and N4PY Software

I could add some code to my N4PY ICOM program and support the 756 very
easily. But the 756 command set only really supports setting frequency,
mode, split on/off, dualwatch on/off. I can completely control frequency
and mode this way from the program. My question is would this help people
with a 756 and burned out display. Will you be able to set things like mic
gain, power output, etc. without a display?
