Also remember if you are missing segments of the tuning range and that 
missing segment repeats across the entire tuning range the usually LPL loop 
is unlocking on the now older rigs. Generally its a simple fix with a 
voltmeter and a little cap twist.

Also I would say if you are not experiencing the symptoms of trimmer cap 
failure I would not sweat that. If you are sending in the rig for service 
then it might be prudent to have the tech look and change them out if 
needed while on the bench.
