Hi Clif,
Thanks for the clarification. I was not aware that the IC-761 used
non-volatile memory. I had peeked into the HPL VCO boxes in my IC-728 and
IC-765, and was under the impression that the trimmers were ceramic. I defer
to your first-hand experience with these radios.

1. The 761 doesn't use the EX-314. It is non-volatile
2. The 725, 726, 728, 729, 736, 737 and 738 all use plastic trimmers. Even
the surface mount ones cause problems.
