Hi Renee,
For starters, I would say that reinstating PBT is a must. W2ISB's mod is
about the best and simplest around.
I would suggest that you download Don VE3HUR's IC-765 Notes from the Icom
FAQ site. This document includes the W2ISB PBT Mod, and other modifications
which may not be applicable to late-series units such as yours.

Replacement of the FL-30/FL-96 filter pair with FL-80/FL-44A or FL-80/Inrad
109 is also a good option; it will sharpen up the PBT and improve
adjacent-channel selectivity.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [ICOM] Info needed on Icom 765
I recently got an Icom 765 serial number 04562. It has not had any mods
what so ever. What mods does everyone recomend should be done to improve
this already great radio? What type of filters do you all suggest for mainly
SSB DX and contest work? Also, are there any good web pages dedicated to
this radio that any one knows of? Any and all info would be greatly
appreciated!
73,
Renee NZ9T
