[ICOM] IC-901 Troubles

Hello Icom Readers,
I have an IC-901 that is acting up. First, the main band audio is low in 
level; barely audible with the volume wide open. The sub band audio is 
fine. I tried changing the audio output IC; no help; same problem.
Then, after not using the rig for a month, it seems the fiber optic 
connection to the band modules and main unit has ceased to function. I've 
seen one other case of the fiber cable going bad in a friend's unit; just 
wondering if anyone else is having or has had similar problems with a 901. 
These rigs are approaching 20 years old now.
