[ICOM] IC-745 + DEM transverter?

I'm thinking about buying a DEM transverter, 26 Mhz in, 144 Mhz out. I have 
the radio, and the Service Manual but I DON'T have the transverter.

The service manual seems to indicate that the radio will not output any rf 
when the 'general coverage' button is depressed. Since I don't have the 
transverter here, I can't test it.

Does anyone know whether the transverter outputs are also defeated when the 
26 Mhz band is selected?
