A full wave 80 meter loop would have a low impedance - giving a good match
for a 50 ohm line.

Let's say the Z of the loop is 100 ohms if you feed it to a 9:1 transformer
the Z will now be 900 ohms.

Say you have 150 feet of open wire feeder ---- low loss! Also now that
you've change the impedance of the load you will be running more voltage and
less current whill also be quite a bit less loss. (Ohms law - this is why
the power company runs high voltage AC and transforms it down locally - to
cut the line losses.)

Then at the other end, you will put another 9:1 transformer so that the high
Z will be changed to low Z - and you will again end up with 100 ohms.

Your tuner should be able to tune this fine.
