The ability to determine, via CI-V commands, which VFO is selected, and
whether or not split is enabled. 

Dual receive would also be nice...

If ICOM were to contact this reflector and ask what improvements would
be most desired in the ICOM IC-706 transceiver, what would you request?

To many it is a near perfect small package transceiver, something that I
do not doubt, but like all "near perfect" things, it is frustrating that
the "one" additional feature wasn't added which would make it "perfect".

How would you make the '706 perfect?
