Well, in my case they added too much.  I would like the receiver to be less
sensitive and more selective.  Mine picks up everything, including power
line noise, stuff from various buildings around town when I'm mobile, some
vehicles as they pass by, I could go on.  Great radio but it definitely has
a noise floor problem.  My 2 cents worth.
