Depends what you want to do. I have not used a -4, but I have used the -3
extensively. The difference is 160-10m on the -3 and 80-6m on the -4.

I took a -2/-3 through Gulf War one, and did many a phone patch and
MARS-gram from out of the battle area using a 150 ft wire. Currently I have
a 35 ft fiberglass vertical and a -3 as my emergency/bugout system along
with a 706.

It is a fine system in my opinion. The DB purists will tell you it isn't
perfect. Well of course not! But it will get you on the air quickly from a
number of places using a fence, or a metal clothesline, or whatever you
have.

In the end, isn't that what it is all about.

$230 is a good price - you can probably get that back on one of the E-places
if you decide you don't want it.
