[ICOM] Damaged Gear

Hi Folks,

Since I have received a "ton" of email concerning the lightning damaged
rigs, here is the scoop.

I will be getting them back "sometime" as my bid was accepted by the
insurance company. They have to wait for my check to clear then they have to
pay the "inspecting dealer" his bench test fees for testing the gear before
the dealer will release the gear to me.

Then I have to pay for the return shipping which is a tad over 200.00

I have everyone email in folders by date and their requests and I will reply
in order.

To be fair, I will give first crack to those in order that want the whole
rig rather than me "parting" them out.

The majority of them are just electrically inoperative. The displays do
light up ok on most all of them and per the dealer they can probably could
be repaired but he would not do so.

So, ya all just "keep the faith" for a bit longer. I have not forgot about
you.

The last couple of weeks have been hectic in getting the new rotor and
antenna back up as well as a totally new and better ground system. Every
single piece of coax is being replaced as well as all ground points...

I am still setting up the new rigs. As luck would have it, my 2nd new
Astron RS 70 M arrived today. Only problem is it is a RS 50 M.
So, the dealer and I need to qso tomorrow. Sure hope he wants to pay an
overnight Sat del charge for me....

One final thing, I am so glad that people read my posts as I am really
thinking that the Linear power supplies might be quite the way to go as they
are so quiet.

Ya all see, this is Arkansas and I have an Arkansas spell checker and all
you have to do is get the first letter of the word right and it takes it
from there.

See, I really did need a laugh tonight..
