Hi Folks,

As most of you know, I have always been a supporter of the Icom PS 125
switching power supplies and I had a ton of them.

Since I am in the middle of a total station reconfiguration, I bought a used
Astron RS70A to power a few Icom's and some brand Y & K.

I got 6 new PS 125's with the new gear and when I started checking out the
new stuff. I had birdies and RF hash from the PS all over the bands. Also
the fan noise was very bad.

I pulled one of my old spare PS 125's out and hooked it to the PRO II and it
was quite.. I put one of the new ones back on and the rig was noisy.

The only difference between the supplies is the old ones came straight from
Japan and had a 2 wire AC cord... Of course the US versions had the 3 wire
cords.. Changing the cords did not make a difference in the noise level.

So, I have another brand new Astron RS 70M on the way and I am going to run
all the gear from 2 of the 70 amp supplies. These big supplies are really
quite.
