[ICOM] R3 Receiver

I'm looking for a small wide-range receiver, but I'd also like to be able to 
receive cable TV channels (midband or HRC) on a small screen so that I can 
have TV in the bedroom overnight without having the 42" set running like I 
normally do...

How does this receiver fare compared to the radio-only R10?

Are the audio and video signals able to be tuned separately, or are they 
tied together?

Any practical experiences with this rig to share?
