Wal-Mart sells a quick-charger for both 110VAC and 12VDC that comes with a 
pack of 4 2200 mah NiMH AA's for around $17 total. The charger also handles 
Ni-Cd cells. Extra packs of 4 AA MiMHs are around $9, IIRC.

I use them in the AA adapter packs for my radios, video cameras, still 
cameras.
