[ICOM] Various mods to IC-756PRO

Can I buy a meter designed for a 756PRO2 and put it in my PRO to improve 
visibility? Are they interchangeable? The reason? Well the PRO meter is just 
so darned hard to read. The new meter is brighter.

Also, has anyone else done the N8DNX mod for operation on 60 meters? If so, 
anything I should look out for? I can solder decently here.
