Yes,
Nothing has changed with that respect. (TNC's)  There are some ADDED 
internal buffers that can be used. I still use mine with HAL DXP38 with no 
problem.

Nice thing with the added internal ones is that if you don't have 
computer/TNC ready, you can use these buffers for a quick qso.

LIke if the VU4 is up on RTTY and you don't want to wait to hook up 
computer you can make a quick Q!   :-)
