[ICOM] Suggestion for HF station

Hello to All,

A friend of mine asked for my suggestion on a HF station. Not being much
of an HF operator myself, I would like some opinions.

Here is the wish list:
-160-10 meters, to include the MARS frequencies. 6 meters a plus.
-Automatic antenna tuner that will tune a 125 foot random wire, or other
temporary antenna, with a simple PTT.
-Possibly a linear amp that will work with the antenna tuner, also
automatic frequency switching.
-SSB and CW modes.
-Computer controlled so that various modes and settings can be stored in
the radio memory and on the computer.
-12VDC operation for the transceiver and antenna tuner for backup power
operation.

That's about all I can think of, cost is not a major issue. He is
upgrading from an IC-735 and manual antenna tuner, and is computer literate.

Your ideas?

Thanks, Joe, K1ike
