[ICOM] Icom AT-500 Auto Tuner - How Automatic is it??

Rich,

It may be a good idea to get used to operating the
tuner face to face first, as there is a delay when
changing bands. The AT-500 provides an annunciation
when the tuner is ready after a band change. Until
this light comes on (usually a few seconds) you
shouldn't transmit. Operating remotely removes this
cue to the operator, so adding 5 seconds or maybe even
a bit more, may be prudent.
