It's not the greatest in a multi-transmitter environment, but we used
one at 3D2CI, K1B, TZ6RD, and T33C for many thousand RTTY contacts.
As with any radio, antenna placement and bandpass filters can make a
great deal of difference.
Back when we had AO-40, the VHF/UHF coverage made a pair most useful
for that bird.

And the general coverage receiver, and detachable front panel are also
good features.

That all being said, I now have a K2 that I'm beginning to use, and
made about 60 RTTY contacts from T32 last week. We were diving the
rest of the time! But even there, I missed some of the features of
the 706.

   Hi Doug,

How does it do as a DXpedition rig? Nice size for a
carry on, but is the receiver up to DXpedition
   standards?
