[ICOM] Ted, K6YN, and His IC-718

I just want to let some of you know that I gave Ted the instructions passed 
to me by some of you.

I meet Ted on 7.020 just about every morning around 6 a.m. I passed the 
information you guys provided to him. He told me he wrote them down in 
LARGE letters so that he could read them later that day.

By 2 p.m., when we meet on 14.017, he announced that the 718 was working 
just fine. He now has more confidence in what he is doing after he reads 
the manual. His eye sight is so bad that he is probably legally blind. Now 
that he has the 718 and his Titan III amplifier working together he is back 
to working on his 45 foot 160 meter vertical project. He wants to get on 
160 meters.

Ted is a retired FCC man and will be 100 years old on April 30th. He was a 
good friend of Prose Walker, who was W4BW until his death two years ago.

Thanks again to all those who provided information. I'm going to sign off 
of this reflector as it generates too many messages for me. You guys have 
been very helpful.
