I had two prosIIs just sold one and bought a proIII...my oldest one is
1034...the other was 1200 something...they were used pretty much
continuously for days, weeks at a time...never had a lick of trouble...In
fact, when I sold one, I kept the oldest one...which has been on every day
for four years plus four hours at a time..24/7 on weekends and vacations...

Subject: [ICOM] Pro II with low serial number

I have a good friend contemplating the purchase of a Pro II with a
serial number of 13XX. I think I have read in the past of problems
with some Pro II's with serial numbers below 2000 regarding an
overheating component causing premature failure. Has anyone had any
significant problems with Pro II's with serial numbers below 2000? Is
there any reason to stay away from Pro II's with serial numbers below
   2000? Thanks for any input.
