John,
Congrats on your new fine radio. You need the OPC 599
cable that splits the 13 pin connector if you want to
go HF PACTOR. The mini DIN is for VHF / UHF
applications (eg. Packet) only. The instruction manual
explains it all. I am running a full service BBS for
AF MARS with that setup.
