I got the RASCAL GLX from Buxcomco and ordered the special cable the incorporates
a switch in line to switch the ptt from hf/vhf-uhf sides. This way I have one cable and
interface. Now the switch is not built into the cable in a manner I would be proud of...
I may go back and add a box for it so I can label it as well. Other than that it is working
fine.

Subject: [ICOM] 706MKIIG and digital modes
I should have an Icom 706MKIIG by the beginning of
next week, and am thinking about ways to hook it up
for digital modes. I see that there is a mini DIN 6
pin jack in the back for digital modes, in addition to
the 13 pin jack. Will this mini DIN handle the
digital modes (including PTT switching) for both HF
and VHF/UHF. The main problem with the 13 pin jack is
that it uses different pins for the PTT switching on
HF and 6/2 meters.
