WOW... I guess I really AM an odd one.
I am 49 - which makes me a youngster at most ham functions, unless my wife
and daughter (both licensed) come along too.
I only weigh about 200, which is still about 15 too much. I am 5-8, about 8
inches taller too. The only shorts I wear are made from my desert camo BDUs
from Gulf war 1, and I only wear them when I hike... which is about every
weekend I am not shooting.
If I must mutate into the above to become an old ham, I guess I will look
for a different hobby.
The PRO-III sounds really nice... but I am still stuck on my 781. And as it
(781) was a gift when I retired from the Army.... I got to keep it. And as
little hamming as I do now, I can't justify having both. Beside - $3000
will buy one heck of a fine competition rifle. Maybe when I retire from
this job.... (hint to XYL).
