[ICOM] Older Icoms with a rigblaster

If you have a RigBlaster without FSK, you can easily add FSK
with one transistor and one resistor. K5WW has a FB web page
showing how to do this with the RB "Nomic" version at:
http://www.qsl.net/k5ww/HTML/FSK.htm
I've been using FSK with a PK-232 for a while, and I recently
started using MMTTY under AFSK. I was disappointed with AFSK,
as I was constantly having to tweak the Windows mixer and mic
gain levels for proper looking output. The FSK output seemed
stronger and more stable than AFSK as well.
With K5WW's ideas and some cables I made from scrap CAT-5,
I now am using MMTTY and the Logger32 sound card programs with
full FSK and PTT control on the IC-765. It works great. I am
also getting RX audio right after the AF detector on ACC1, so
the decoder works independent of the radio's AF gain control.
I would definately take the time to wire up FSK, PTT, and fixed
line level RX audio for RTTY use with any Icom radio. To my
knowledge, almost all Icom HF rigs have the necessary signals
available on the accessory jack(s). Well worth the effort.
