[ICOM] ic r8500 info point

hello to all 
is any one out there using the R-8500? I do have the R-9000L but i am now 
setting up 
the German station i have.[new configuration in some area]
i like to have some good info the good and the bad about the r-8500 
any week point? i know some say long ago it is better on the high frq then on 
the Hf band 
well any info will be nice thank you.
