Hi Marty,
Well, I assume that you are referring to the IC-4KL. The IC-4KL is the
predecessor of the PW1, although it is of a different design using BJT's
(bipolar junction transistors) as opposed to the PW1's MOSFETs.
The IC-4KL will interface directly with the IC-746Pro II via the ACC(2)
socket.
You can download the user manual and other documents here:

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [ICOM] KL-4
Hello to all on the reflector,
I am in the process of purchasing a KL-4 amp, but I neglected to find out
what brand it is. Is it the amp before the PW-1 ? If it is a Yaesu, do you
know if my Icom 756 Pro II will interface with all its capabilites ? I
really thank you in advance for any assistance, as I don't want to buy
something I don't know what it is ? Is it possibly another name for a
VL-1000 ? I did a cross reference check on the nomenclature KL-4 and
received no response. 73 and g.b.
Kindest of regards,
Marty, W3QK
