Martin,

I do not own the rig in question but I have been a fan of 6M for quite some
time. I've won a national 6M contest and I have worked 40+ states, South
America and Japan, among others, on 6M - SSB, of course. However, your experience
with 6M seems rather odd given the number of 6M repeaters that appear to be
located near you.

Have you visited these URLs?

http://www.vcnet.com/KN6LA/6m.html

http://www.sasquatchnet.org/kb6mip/6m.html

And, do you have a "decent" antenna? (Meaning outdoor and of the proper
polarization)

Have you tried to contact anyone on 6M through the local repeaters in your
area?

If your answer to any of those questions is "No", that might explain your
results!

Why not give it a try unless your location/situation prevents it? Six meters
is a wonderful band. When you have the right equipment and an adventurous
attitude, the results can be very rewarding . . . I've died and gone to heaven
many times on 50 MHz!

Regards,

Bill
