[Icom] Damage

Hi Jim,

Gee, I am really glad that I have a good sense of humor or I would probably
have gotten upset at that comment. FYI and others, yes there is fire damage
with holes in the wall where every phone jack in the house was blown off the
walls.

I was in my office when it hit about 3' from the main elect and phone
panels. I have a big charred spot on the wall and also an empty fire ext.
that I had to use in the garage to put out the fire at the modem and
routers.

It was 9:30 PM and I was still up.

Insurance? Same company and policy for 7 years and no claims.

I even have pictures of the damage.

The insurance adjuster brought a "lightning expert" out yesterday and he
felt it was a dual strike, one part hit the DSL/phone lines and the
electrical entrance and also the tower at the same time or seconds apart.

I didn't feel it was necessary to mention the house damage really as it is
not related to Icom gear but I thought I better clarify what happened for
suspicious minds...

The insurance company has requested that I have every piece of gear shipped
to Icom and or Kenwood for evaluation for the value of repair.

That sounds suspicious to me...unless the wall caught fire and the house
burned.... Wonder if he had just gotten new insurance that covered him.
