>From the German "Funkamateur" (Radio Amateur magazine) website:
22.04.04: FTDX-9000 at Hamradio (Friedrichshafen Hamfest, Europe's Dayton)
Spiritual father comes to the Bodensee
With a first-class advertising campaign, Vertex standard draws the attention
of the amateur radio world to the new FT DX-9000, which may definitely be
regarded as the answer to Icom's new flagship IC-7800. Just as the first
announcement published in Japan showed a meter with 500W full-scale reading,
the second advertisement now illustrates 3 tuning knobs, which suggests
three receivers.
This new top-drawer transceiver from Yaesu will certainly be one of the main
attractions of this year's Hamradio. Mr Ogi, who is considered the spiritual
father of this new piece of equipment, will be flying in from Tokyo for
this event.
