The "Power Point" auxilliary outlet is fused
by Ford at 20A. The .6V drop on transmit
suggests that the wiring used in the truck
for this outlet might better have been of
larger gauge, but it is acceptable to me for
the time being.

I have used the Radio Shack plug referred to in the first posting in my
Honda Civic Aux socket for over a year with no problem whatsoever. I have a
2 meter FT-1500 transceiver. Granted, I normally run at 25 watts, but I
have kicked it up to 50 watts when necessary, again with no problem. The
Civic owners manual states that the socket is "rated at 120 watts (10
amps)."

I suspect the Aux socket in Mac's truck may be rated higher than my "little"
Civic.
